SENIOR BRONZE / SURF RESCUE
COURSE
Our first course for the season will commence soon. We are
currently looking for a group of adults and over 16’s to
commence the dry components of their awards, with the wet to come
in the warmer weather. The course requires a commitment to one
night a week from 7.30 to 9.30 at the Dalyellup community centre
for approximately 6 weeks to cover the theory components of the
award with wet work being done at the Bunbury pool initially and
then down the beach on Saturday mornings when the weather gets
better. Next course commencing Tuesday October 13th
(1st week of term 4)JUNIOR SURF RESCUE
COURSE
Junior members (between the ages of 12 to 15) are invited to start
the theory and resuscitation components of the SURF RESCUE
CERTIFICATE before the season commences they will then complete the
practical and wet work during club activities. This will require a
commitment to 3 hours on Saturday mornings for 3 week from
8.30 to 11.30 at the Dalyellup community centre. This course will
commence on the last weekend of the term 3 school holidays (ie. Sat
October 8th). It is essential that you contact Trevor on 9795 5015

TRAINING
Due to the success and popularity of last season’s
proficiency dates, we have decided to again hold proficiencies in
December. This season will be resuscitation, run swim run,
scenario and a focus on the spinal board carry. Certificate holders
should be thinking about getting into a fitness routine ready for
this and should come along to any of the training sessions that are
running for various certificates where the first part of each
session will be dedicated to practicing and revising resuscitation
techniques.CONVERSION COURSE FROM SURF
RESCUE TO BRONZE
If you currently hold a Surf Rescue Certificate and whish to
upgrade this to a Bronze Medallion so that you will then be
eligible to gain the Rescue Boat crew or drivers certificate and be
fully qualified to run patrols, then please contact me and I will
arrange a short intense upgrade course.SENIOR FIRST AID
CERTIFICATE
This course will be offered to people with or without the Bronze or
Surf Rescue certificates. So if you would like to add this to your
qualifications or have this so that you can help out on the beach
then please give me a call and I will arrange a time for this to
commence. DEFIBULATOR AND SPINAL
SUPPORT COURSES.
If you currently have a bronze, surf rescue or First Aid
certificate and would like to add these skills to your award then
contact Trevor as these will run in conjunction with Bunbury club
very soon. |
